Won’t expand properly? Wrong feel? Who collects it, and who pays? A convenient box does not answer those questions. Get answers before you buy.
See the mattress. See the price. ↗What happens after you cut it open?
Ask for the model’s unpacking instructions, recovery time and written remedy if it fails to recover. Who moves it into place? Is setup included? Keep the packaging and evidence the seller requires for a claim.
What did you actually pay for?
Compression requires materials and a construction that tolerate being compressed and recover afterwards. Ask for foam density, spring construction, layer thicknesses and support requirements. “Fits in a box” describes delivery. It does not establish comfort or durability. Compare the actual model, not the packaging.
Feels wrong. Can you return it?
Firmness is personal. Check whether there is a comfort trial, its conditions, and who pays collection or return freight. A defect warranty and a change-of-mind return are different things. Ask what is covered, what proof is needed and where a claim is handled.
Same questions for a sofa-in-a-box.
Check the frame, cushion materials, spring system, finished dimensions and setup requirements. Ask what the seller will do if the cushions or upholstery fail to recover. The unboxing clip below is a mattress compilation, not evidence about sofa quality.
