KNOW THIS BEFORE YOU KA-CHING!
WHY IS FURNITURE SOEXPENSIVE IN SINGAPORE?
Same sofa, same mattress, a much bigger price. Singapore showrooms are not greedy, they are stuck. Rent, warehouses and a good story all end up on your price tag. Here is what is really going on, and the trick Singaporeans use to skip it.
Shop Johor factory prices ↗The rent eats first
A showroom in Singapore pays sky-high rent, then pays again to store stock in a warehouse. None of that makes your sofa better. It just makes it pricier. Sellers have little choice but to mark up, and you cover the bill.
The “imported” story
To justify the price, sellers like to say the furniture comes from Europe, the US, Japan or Australia. It sounds worth the money. In fact, 80% of the furniture in Singapore showrooms comes from Malaysia. Same furniture, fancier label.
